| Located 60 miles north of Duluth,
and 200 miles north of the Twin cities, Hoyt Lakes and the Iron Range offers skiers and
snowmobiliers a variety of experiences. The many trails take you through tall forests of
aspen, pine and spruce; along rivers and lake shores; down challenging hills and across
scenic ridgetops. An abundance of wildlife lives in this area and often you see deer,
moose and wolf tracks. |

| Colby Lake Trail: |
|

|
| Beautiful hilly terrain covered with birch and aspen forest,
and views of Colby Lake are the features of this 3km trail. Starting point is the Birch
Cove Beach parking lot located just out the front door of the new Country Inn

| Bird Lake Trail: |

| This 16km Superior National Forest trail is located five miles east of
Hoyt Lakes, along the new Superior National Forest Scenic Byway (FH 11) and it offers easy, intermediate and difficult
challenges. It meanders through typically beautiful northwoods country, with dense stands
of black spruce, bogs, and hills of aspen and birch. Parking is available at
Bird Lake,
and also at the east end of Hoyt Lakes. An Adirondack-type shelter faces Lillian Lake
which is on the trail and offers a terrific rest stop. For more information, call the

| Giant's Ridge

| This northwoods setting located just 15 miles west of Hoyt Lakes hosts 55
km of winding routes passing through snow-laden pine and birch groves ready for all levels
of skiers. Although the trails are world-class caliber, you don't have to be the greatest
of skier to ski some of the best trails anywhere. Some trails are groomed for skate skiing
and others for classical track skiing. Additional attractions include a chalet, ski
rental, downhill skiing, and a 3 km lighted trail for night skiing. Call 1-800-688-7669
for more information. A daily fee is charged. The Giant's Ridge Recreation Area is located
just 15 miles west of Hoyt Lakes. |
